André Smith is an Instructional Coach with the Network for College Success. Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, André Smith received his B.A. in Psychology and African-American Studies and his M.Ed. in Education from the University of Notre Dame.
He began his teaching career in New Orleans, LA and relocated to Chicago in 2016. For him, access to a transformative and equitable educational experiences is a civil rights issue that Black and Brown folx deserve to experience, and he is dedicated to helping to create school environments in which these conditions not only live--but thrive. André approaches his work, both personally and professionally, through a learner stance in which he is always seeking to learn more, do more, and be more.
André’s grandparents are his biggest inspiration in life, as they were blessed to see the world change in a way that they had never imagined possible.
