About the District

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is the public school system in the city of Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is the third-largest school district in the United States by enrollment, serving over 300,000 students in more than 500 schools,
CPS continues to be a central institution in the educational landscape of Chicago and plays a vital role in the development and education of the city's youth.

A Decade-Long Partnership

Our journey with CPS began in 2006, and over the years, this partnership has flourished into a dynamic collaboration focused on transforming the high school experiences of CPS students. By blending CPS's commitment to education and our expertise in school improvement, we have achieved remarkable outcomes that continue to inspire.
Through research-backed strategies, specialized support, and a comprehensive network, we have empowered educators and school & district leaders to support their students through high school and onto successful postsecondary pathways.
Over the past 13 years, Chicago Public Schools have experienced unprecedented increases in graduation rates, from 57% to 79%. In 2019, NCS partner schools achieved an average high school graduation rate of 83%.
