Emily Fischer is a Communications Specialist with the UChicago Network for College Success (NCS). She is responsible for implementing and analyzing NCS’ communications strategy across channels to amplify NCS’ research, mission and initiatives.
Before joining the team at NCS, Emily worked as an Editorial Fellow with Midstory Media Thinkhub, where she wrote original pieces on issues impacting the Midwest region, mentored interns and assisted the Editorial Director with copyediting, rewriting, fact-checking, designing, and grant research.
During her time at Northwestern, Emily studied political science & journalism while leading social justice organization Menstrual Equity Activists, which sought to mitigate period poverty and stigma on campus and throughout Chicago. She also spent a quarter working at SimplyBe. Agency, a personal-branding firm in Chicago.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Emily spends most of her free time babysitting, crafting and watching Bravo. Her favorite things about Chicago are access to the lake, the incredible food and everyone's friendliness--it has always felt like home
