Jessica Bunzol

Transformation Coach

Jessica Bunzol is a Transformation Coach with the UChicago Network for College Success (NCS). She supports teachers and teacher teams to lift and leverage student voice in their instructional improvement efforts, focusing her efforts on coaching teams to build the necessary conditions and practices to honor young peoples’ voices as truth and to co-construct learning communities with the young people in their classrooms. She also works to create opportunities for teachers to reflect on the intersections of identity and practice, unpacking the ways in which experiences, beliefs and biases impact classroom instruction.
Prior to her work at NCS, Jessica worked as an English teacher in Chicago Public Schools, where she was deeply committed to honoring and building the identities of students as members of reading and writing communities, work that was featured in national presentations, a published book and a dissertation. While teaching, Jessica also worked as a design team teacher with Project READi and as a CPS Framework Specialist Leader, supporting teacher leaders in the development and facilitation of professional learning communities.
Jessica received a B.A. in English from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an M.A. in English Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
