Octavio Casas, EdD is the Professional Learning Manager with the UChicago Network for College Success (NCS). Octavio began his teacher training early with the Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program before starting his career with Chicago Public Schools. He served as an ESL teacher at Farragut Career Academy, then moving into administration at the school. Octavio most recently served as the Principal in the Bronzeville neighborhood. Octavio remains committed to improving outcomes for Black, Brown, and historically underserved students by championing equity.
Octavio earned his Bachelor's Degree in Teaching of English at University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), a Master's of Instructional Leadership at UIC, and a Master's in School Leadership from Concordia University. In 2023, he completed his Doctorate of Education in School Leadership degree at National Louis University.
